This might work for some people but the author assumes all smokers are the same and in the same situation, which obviously is not true, so the concepts explained in the book, although interesting to know, not necessarily will work on everyone. My only problem with the method is that it is based in learning to hate smoking and love not smoking as a way to not smoke without the need of willpower (we suppose to do what we love rather than what we hate). It definitely will help many people quit smoking. I do recommend this book since it helps to see smoking from a different perspective.
